albert's room.
I really enjoyed putting together Albert's nursery. I wanted his room to be both functional and stylish. I obviously needed to have a crib, rocking chair and a changing area but I also wanted this to be his room. I wanted to be able to remove or repurpose those baby necessities and for the room to easily switch over to a little boy's room. Our house is from the 1950's so it has a lot of original hardwood details and I wanted to create a space that matched the feeling of the house. I went with the theme of "vintage school house" because I love the classic look of old school material and I have a deep love for old Golden Books.
The dresser, mirror, and changing table (its an old dry sink) were found in a local antique shop. My mother-in-law and I refinished them over the summer.
The stained glass feathers in the window were made by my aunt Kathy and I love them.
Adam and I made the wooden abacus hanging over Albert's crib (it was a labor of love).
The green cross stitch was made for Adam when he was a baby by a church friend.
Botanical prints are from Etsy and I got the glass terrariums from CB2.
I tried to create space that felt youthful and fun but allowed Albert room to make it his own.
Alix, Albert's room is beautiful. thanks for the pictures. Unk has a doctor appt on Feb 2 we will probably be down on the 1st and may stay until the 3rd. Hope to see you then.Love you all
