Baking Soda Ornaments

1 cup baking soda

1/2 cup cornstarch

3/4 cup water

Mix the baking soda, cornstarch, and water in a small pot.

Place on the stove over medium heat and stir constantly.

Boil it until it thickens and comes together as a ball.

Place the dough in a bowl and cover with a damp rag.

Wait for it to cool.

Once it is cool knead the dough until it is smooth.

(you can add essential oils at this stage if you want)

Now you can roll it out and use cookie cutters to make ornaments.

Use a plastic straw to punch out a hole to hang them.

Let them air dry over night. 

(i flipped them once to help both sides dry)

My nephew loved helping me make these. Once they were dry I had him paint the ones he made.  

This was an easy and fun holiday activity.
