summer fun. (part 2)
Every year we take a week long beach trip with my husbands family. Traveling with little ones can be really stressful but to see the joy on their faces as they discover and explore makes it all worth it.
We spend one night in Williamsburg and although we go there every year we always manage to find a new spot to explore.
This year beach location was Nags Head. The kids love the beach and we are always surprised how well they play (and nap) while we are down there.
The beach is Albert's happy place. He got to visit every dog that walked by, had an informal lesson about surfboards from a real surfer, and got to dig in the sand to his hearts desire.
The beach for Edith is the perfect nap environment. She loved being held in the ring sling and just listening to the sound of the ocean as she dozed off. I'm sure next year she will be busier but this year Edie lived her best life just napping on the beach.
The pool was also a very popular spot this summer. Edie and I had been doing swim classes and it was fun just to watch her splash around in the pool. Albert loves the pool and begged us to swim every day after dinner. He loved playing with his cousins and it was amazing to see his confidence grow as he got more and more comfortable in the water.
